A win streak of more than 40 WTA singles matches has been achieved 10 times in the Open Era.

10. Martina Navratilova put together a 41-match winning streak in 1982, with her run ended by Pam Shriver at the 1982 US Open in the quarterfinals.

9. Chris Evert also put together a 41-match undefeated run, doing so over the course of 1975 and 1976. It was Navratilova who ultimately ended this sequence in Houston.

8. In 1987, Stefanie Graf produced a run of 45 wins in succession. Again, Navratilova was the player to put an end to the streak, doing so in the Wimbledon final.

7. Graf went one better in 1988 as she won 46 matches in a row. Shriver was the player to get the better of her in the semifinals of the Virginia Slims Championships.
