Twenty years ago, Lindsay Davenport reached the final of the tournament in Miami. She was beaten by Martina Hingis but the American did lift a host of trophies during her stellar career. Here we look back at 10 highlights.

Lindsay Davenport made her big singles breakthrough at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, where she won gold for the USA, defeating Arantxa Sánchez Vicario, 7-6(8), 6-2.

She had already tasted Grand Slam success by that point, having partnered Mary Joe Fernández to 1996 French Open doubles victory.

Davenport and Fernández would go on to win the 1996 WTA Tour Championships, the first of three straight titles for her. In 1997, she won with Jana Novotna and in 1998 with Natasha Zvereva.

She would have to wait until 1998 to win her first major in singles play. After reaching the French Open semis, a personal best, she won in New York.

US Open success proved the platform for a highly successful 1999, which was perhaps the best year of her career, which included the Wimbledon title. She beat Stefanie Graf in the final at the All England Club.
