BACKGROUND 

Jodie Dakic is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Primary and Allied Health Care at Monash University, Melbourne Australia. She is the Women’s and Men’s Health Stream Leader. Jodie is a practicing physiotherapist in the field of sports medicine and women’s health. Jodie has combined her clinical experience in elite female sport and pelvic floor physiotherapy with a strong research interest in women’s health conditions impacting female athletes. She has published several articles and presents nationally and internationally in this field. She is also a member of the inaugural Australian Institute of Sport Female Performance Health Initiative Research and Education Reference Group.

EDUCATION 

Jodie Dakic obtained a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) and Post-Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne and is currently completing the final stages of her PhD investigating pelvic floor disorders in exercising women/female athletes at The University of Melbourne.

EXPERTISE 

Her clinical career has included a role with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) as Director of Athlete Medical Services and a full-time travelling position. Other clinical experience has included roles with Pelvic Strength Physiotherapy, Tennis Australia, Australian junior softball team and Victorian softball team. She also acts as a Research Consultant to the WTA, publishing and presenting on injury epidemiology and prevention in professional female tennis.
