SINGAPORE - Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik have become the sixth team to qualify for the doubles event at the $6.5-million BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global.
Peschke and Srebotnik, who won Wimbledon in 2011 and subsequently became the co-No.1s in doubles, will be playing the WTA Finals for the third time together, having made the final in both previous attempts in 2010 and 2011. Peschke is playing here for the fifth time, Srebotnik the eighth.
"We are so happy to have qualified for the WTA Finals in Singapore," Srebotnik commented. "We came so close in 2010 and 2011. We hope we can find that spark this year, and with a bit of luck anything can happen. We can't wait to experience all Singapore has to offer on and off the court."
"Kveta and Kata are an established team with proven success," WTA Chairman & CEO Stacey Allaster said. "With six teams now qualified, the doubles field at the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global is shaping up to be a spectacular assembly of the best teams in the sport."
