MATCH POINTS

Marketa Vondrousova has won both of her previous matches against her compatriot Barbora Strycova in straight sets. The first win came en route to the then-17-year-old's first and heretofore sole WTA singles title at Biel in 2017. Vondrousova picked up her second victory over Strycova last month at the Miami Open.

Strycova has two WTA titles to her credit, at Quebec City in 2011 and Linz in 2017.

The Czechs were the two highest-ranked unseeded players in this week's singles draw. No.9 seed Viktoria Kuzmova is ranked World No.44, while Vondrousova and Strycova are ranked No.46 and No.47 respectively.

Petra Martic and Margarita Gasparyan are meeting for the first time. Martic, the only seeded player to reach the quarterfinals, is still searching for her first WTA singles title, while Gasparyan has two WTA singles titles: Baku in 2015 and Tashkent last year.

Martic's quarterfinal win over Kristina Mladenovic on Friday became the longest match of the year to date. The 6th-seeded Croat needed three hours and 17 minutes to take the victory over the Frenchwoman.
