MATCH POINTS

This is the first grass final for Bencic in four years, dating back to finishing runner-up in Eastbourne in 2015, while this is the first career grass final for Kenin.

Both players are looking to win their second title of the season in Mallorca, with Kenin winning in Hobart in January and Bencic triumphing in Dubai in February.

Kenin and Bencic have never faced each other, but the Swiss notched tour-leading eighth Top 10 win of the season over Angelique Kerber from a set down in the semifinals.

Bencic is making her Mallorca debut, while Kenin has had success on the Spanish grass before: last year, she reached the semifinals as a qualifier.

A year ago, Kenin ousted top seed Caroline Garcia to reach her maiden WTA semifinal before losing to eventual champion Tatjana Maria.

The American notched her fifth Top 20 win of the season over No.12 and 2017 Mallorca champion Anastasija Sevastova in the semifinals, and defeated then-No.19 Garcia in her Hobart title run.
