Olympic gold medallist Monica Puig has announced that Kamau Murray has joined her coaching team going forward.

CHICAGO, IL, USA - Olympic gold medallist Monica Puig has announced a new team headed by Kamau Murray, the former coach of Sloane Stephens, for 2019.

In addition to XS Tennis and Education Foundation founder Murray, who was absent from Stephens' team during the Australian swing, the World No.59 will also be working with new fitness coach CJ Moore, coach Othmane Garma and hitting partner Austin Russell.

Puig, whose 2018 highlights included a fourth-round run in Miami, an upset of Caroline Wozniacki in Wuhan, three quarterfinals and a semifinal showing in New Haven, announced on social media: "New team.. who dis?! So excited to have Kamau Murray in my corner! Also having my new fitness coach CJ, coach OG and hitting partner Austin by my side makes this squad even better!
