MATCH POINTS

No. 5 seed Rebecca Peterson of Sweden and unseeded Serbian Nina Stojanovic will square off for a spot in their first WTA final in the first semifinal on Saturday.

China's Peng Shuai remains undefeated in her career in Nanchang as she seeks her third career appearance in a final.

The 2017 champion at the International event, Peng also won Nanchang in 2014 when it was a part of the WTA 125K Series of tournaments.

Peng will face No. 4 seed Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan, who survived an epic against No. 6 seed Viktorija Golubic in Friday's quarterfinals.

The 20-year-old won the last four games of a marathon quarterfinal, coming from 5-3 down in the final set to win, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.

Rybakina, the champion in Bucharest in June, is the lone player of the remaining semifinalists to win a title in 2019.
