MATCH POINTS

Zheng Saisai won the only previous meeting with Aryna Sabalenka, taking the Zhuhai match in straight sets two years ago.

Both players were taken to three sets in their quarterfinal victories - Zheng by home favorite Amanda Anisimova and Sabalenka by Carla Suárez Navarro.

The Chinese player has beaten three seeds in succession to make the final (Danielle Collins, Anisimova and Maria Sakkari), while Sabalenka has overcome two (Suárez Navarro and Vekic).

Zheng is making her first appearance in a Premier-level final, and her first of any kind since making the Nanchang finale last year.

Sabalenka hopes to add to her Shenzhen title from earlier this year and would become the second Belarusian winner here, following Victoria Azarenka in 2010.

Three of the last six finals here have gone to three sets, although Mihaela Buzarnescu won last year's final for the loss of just one game against Sakkari.

WEATHER
