Former World No.1 Karolina Pliskova has risen to No.2 on the Porsche Race to Shenzhen leaderboard after capturing her 14th career trophy at the Nature Valley International last week.

The Czech became the second player to win three titles this season - World No.1 Ashleigh Barty had hit that mark one week previously in Birmingham - and consequently enters her third consecutive major on a winning streak from victory in her final warmup event. Previously, Pliskova had won Brisbane ahead of the Australian Open, where she reached the semifinals before losing to Naomi Osaka, and Rome preceding Roland Garros, where she was upset by Petra Martic in the third round.

The only other movement in the Top 8 was Eastbourne quarterfinalist Simona Halep edging ahead of Roland Garros finalist Marketa Vondrousova to No.7, pushing the Czech teenager down to No.8. However, Eastbourne runner-up Angelique Kerber has the elite eight in her sights: the German's second final of the year following Indian Wells lifts to her two spots to No.9, pushing Johanna Konta and Bianca Andreescu - her conqueror in Indian Wells - down one each.

Further down, a fourth quarterfinal-or-better showing - and second at Premier level - in Eastbourne for Ekaterina Alexandrova continued the Russian's strong season, and has given her a seven-spot boost to No.31.
